Juventus considering swap for Morata and Kean

Reports from Italy claim that Juventus are considering a swap for Atlético de Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who spent the last two seasons on loan at the club with their young striker Moise Kean.

Atlético want to offload Morata and Juventus are keen to keep him but the €35 million asking price of the Spanish club is way above what the Italian side are willing to pay for his services.

The 29-year-old has been a good servant of the Bianconeir since he first moved to the club from Real Madrid in 2014 for a two-year spell before moving back to Madrid, then England and back to Madrid to play for Atlético, who then sent him on loan back to Juventus.

In those spells, he has scored 59 goals in 185 appearances and has been a key member of the squad as they challenged for all titles. Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini is personally overseeing the transfer and has been reported to be preparing to fly to Spain this week to discuss the details and offer a swap involving Kean to help sweeten the deal for Los Rojiblancos.

This is according to Italian football expert Gianluca Di Marzio who tweeted that the swap deal has already been touted to Atletico by Juventus and that Los Colchonros manager Diego Simeone is yet to give his greenlight on the deal.

Cherubini will have his work cut out for him as he travels to Spain for the negotiations but it is expected that the trip will bring solutions which will keep Morata at the Allianz Stadium for longer.

Another Juventus forward, Brazilian prospect Kaio Jorge, could be sent to newly-promoted side US Cremonese on loan after a tough debut season with Juventus.

The 20-year-old Brazilian forward was signed ahead of the just-concluded season for €1.5 million by the Old Lady from Brazilian Serie A club Santos. His adaptation to Italian and European football has not gone so well, as he struggled for consistent minutes in the first half of the season before eventually being sent to the reserves by January.

He suffered a serious tendon injury to further complicate things for him as he spent the rest of the season recovering on the sidelines. Gazzetta dello Sport now reports that Cremonese, who have previously expressed interest in Kaio Jorge, may look to return for him this summer as they prepare for their first season back in the Serie A.

Juventus are reported to be considering the move as they believe it will help the young forward’s development.
