Spurs offer mega-money deal to Harry Kane in wake of Bayern Munich pressure

The Daniel Levy-led Tottenham Hotspur administration have offered Harry Kane a huge contract in response to Bayern Munich’s latest push for the striker.

The Bavarians have fixed their sights on signing the England Three Lions captain for next summer and are reportedly prepared to go against their norms to do it.

Bayern have dominated Germany and have had a strong presence in European football by focusing on academy development and without breaking the bank for players who they sign. However, the matter of a top number 9 for the 2023/24 season is different for them because of their struggles without one last season.

Following the exit of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, they made do with backup striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who was supported by Sadio Mané and his inside forward abilities.

Mané turned out to be a bust and is being linked with an exit. Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala, the club’s two top scorers from last season with 15 and 13 goals in all competitions respectively, are not enough to help the Bavarians hold on to their throne. With Kane available to discuss pre-contract agreements with any clubs due to his contract at Spurs coming to an end in less than one year, the German Bundesliga champions want to take advantage and sign a player who is considered one of the world’s best.

Spurs are playing hardball as usual but the push from Bayern is proving to be difficult for them. The six-time UEFA Champions League winners recently had a £60 million bid rejected by Spurs and following the rejection, Thomas Tuchel, the club’s manager, flew down to London to meet with Kane and his family to personally convince him of the move.

Reports indicate that Tuchel struck a chord with Kane and that Bayern is preparing another offer which they intend to submit to Spurs in the coming days.

This has led to Daniel Levy and his team to present the biggest contract they have ever presented to a player. Kane is currently on £200,000 a week at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but the reports indicate that the new contract could see him earn around 80 percent more.

Bayern may have set their sights on Kane but Manchester United are lurking in the shadows, waiting for the slightest opportunity. The 29-year-old could opt for the Red Devils if they present a new bid, putting Bayern’s chances in jeopardy.

The Kane saga continues.
