Roy Keane advices Marcus Rashford against touted move away from Old Trafford in the summer

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has sent a strong message to Marcus Rashford, who is reportedly seeking a move away from Old Trafford in the summer.

Rashford, 24, has seen his stock drop in the Manchester United squad of late and reports have it that the forward is dissatisfied with being a squad player in Ralf Rangnick’s side.

Rashford is reportedly considering a move away from Old Trafford, with clubs like Barcelona and Arsenal showing interest in the forward.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour is the one who linked Rashford to Arsenal, claiming that his former club will definitely be interested in signing the forward as they continue their search for a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal, who will be losing Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the summer, are making the acquisition of a new striker priority in the summer. The Gunners are reportedly targeting two attackers but Parlour believes that Rashford will be a great option to have for the North London side.

Manchester United would be mad to sell Rashford, Parlour says

Parlour noted, however, that it will be unlikely for Rashford, whose contract at United is up in 2023, to depart Old Trafford in the summer.

“I’m sure lots of clubs will be enquiring about Marcus Rashford if he is available in the summer,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“I do not know what he has got left on his contract. Certainly Arsenal, I would love him to come to Arsenal.

“I do not think he would be available. I think Manchester United would be mad if they did sell him or got rid of Marcus, but if they did, I’m sure Arsenal would definitely be interested.”

However, United legend Keane has urged Rashford to fight for his place at Old Trafford rather than look for a move to another club.

“He’s had a difficult few months, a lot of players do, they have their ups and downs, he’s got to get through it, maybe simplify his game, start running in behind, start enjoying it again,” Keane said on Sky Sports.

“You have to remind Marcus that, despite all the brilliant things he’s done, he’s playing for Manchester United which is honestly one of the best feelings in the world, playing for a big club.”

Antonio Conte praises Ronaldo after Tottenham humbling at Old Trafford

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte praised Cristiano Ronaldo, whose hat trick helped Manchester United to defeat his side on Saturday in the Premier League.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick to become the official highest goal scorer in football history according to FIFA records. His hat-trick helped Manchester United to a landmark 23rd win over Spurs at Old Trafford while also firing the Red Devils to their 400th win at the Theatre of Dreams in the competition.

Spurs manager Conte, in his post-match comment, could not help but laud the talents of the 37 year-old, who he admitted his side found difficult to contain.

“It was an amazing performance from Cristiano, but I know him very well and it’s not a surprise for me,” Conte said.

“We’re talking about a player that with Messi they are the best players in the world right now, with Maradona and Pele [in history] in my opinion, we’re talking about a player who is decisive and in the moment the team needed him he’s always present.

“I remember very well the Champions League group for Manchester United and he was decisive to go to the next round.

“He’s a player who feels this type of game. Tonight we didn’t discover him. A great compliment to him because to arrive at this age with this form and mentality and this desire to win you have to give all the great compliments to your opponent.”
