Potter excited at the arrival of Joao Felix

After much speculation, Joao Felix has arrived at Stamford Bridge on a loan deal till the end of the season. Chelsea manager Graham Potter has expressed his excitement at the signing of the Atletico Madrid forward.

Chelsea have suffered problems in the Premier League under Graham Potter. The grace period seems to be over for the former Brighton manager, and the heat is now on him. Potter has to find answers to the problems bedeviling the Stamford Bridge side. The Blues are tenth on the Premier League log, with the west London club blue in the face.

Chelsea have problems both in attack and defence. The Blues have managed 20 league goals this season and conceded 19. Potter has to start getting wins, as he has won only one Premier League game in his last eight matches. It is hard to lay the blame on the management as the club made a heavy outlay on players this summer.

Despite the poor results, with blame on the poor tactics of the Englishman, Todd Boehly is not through with signing players. The American owner is still in the market to acquire more players.

The latest arrival at Stamford Bridge is Joao Felix, who arrives on a loan deal until the end of the season. Potter has expressed his excitement at the signing of the Portuguese forward.

Potter excited at the signing of Joao Felix

With troubles in the team, Chelsea have made a foray into the market to beef up its squad. The west London side have completed the loan deal for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix. Head coach of the Blues, Graham potter, has expressed his excitement at working with the Portugal international.

There were speculations over the future of the Atletico Madrid forward, with reports suggesting the club was interested in offloading him permanently. The deal that brings him to Stamford Bridge is only till the end of the season. Potter was visibly excited at having the young man available to him. The Chelsea coach could not hide his feelings as he spoke during his pre-match press conference.

Potter had plenty of positive things to say about Felix. According to the Chelsea manager, Felix is a quality player who he believes will make a difference in the final third of the pitch for Chelsea. Despite being just 23, Potter agrees that he has good experience, and his signing gives everyone at the club a lift.

Felix gets familiar with Chelsea

Felix arrives at Chelsea match fit. The 23-year-old has played a massive role in Atletico Madrid’s season before linking up with Chelsea. Of the 16 league games Atletico has played this term, Felix missed only two, scoring four goals. He has already hit the ground running as he got familiar with his new surroundings on Wednesday morning. He is unlikely to feature for Chelsea in their Thursday evening game against Fulham.

Potter has denied Chelsea signed Felix because of injuries to wide players Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling. He said the club was already on the tail of the Portugal international, but injuries in the team caused them to hasten action on the deal. Potter claims Felix could play as a second striker between the lines.

The Chelsea manager is eager to unleash the forward and said the club awaits to see if he was signed on time to play on Thursday.
