This year’s PFA ceremony once again recognized footballers for their achievements on the pitch. The evening also marked a milestone as Mohamed Salah collected his third Player of the Year prize, while Mariona Caldentey was honored as the top women’s player after guiding Arsenal to continental success.
Alongside the headline winners, trophies were handed to rising stars, standouts from the Women’s Super League, and the best performers across the Championship, League One, and League Two. The night concluded with the unveiling of the Teams of the Year for each division.
Men’s and Women’s main honours
Liverpool forward Salah received the men’s top prize for a record third time, following a season in which he drove his team to the league championship while finishing first in both goals and assists. He came out ahead of Bruno Fernandes, Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister, Cole Palmer, and Declan Rice.
In the women’s category, Arsenal’s Caldentey collected the top honor for the first time. Her competition included Erin Cuthbert, Mary Fowler, Yui Hasegawa, Alessia Russo, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce.
Young players and lower league winners
Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers secured the men’s Young Player award, finishing ahead of Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Ethan Nwaneri. On the women’s side, Arsenal youngster Olivia Smith was chosen over Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Mary Fowler, Maika Hamano, and Wieke Kaptein.
In the Championship, goalkeeper James Trafford, formerly with Burnley and now at Manchester City, earned recognition. He topped a list of nominees including Josh Brownhill, Gustavo Hamer, Daniel James, Borja Sainz, and Ao Tanaka.
League One’s standout was Wycombe Wanderers forward Richard Kone, with Tomoki Iwata, Davis Keillor-Dunn, Charlie Kelman, Kwame Poku, and Jay Stansfield also shortlisted.
