Nico Gonzalez Set for Juventus as Serie A Transfers Finalize

A complex series of transfers in Serie A has nearly wrapped up with Nico Gonzalez poised to make his switch to Juventus. The 25-year-old Copa America winner is the final piece in a multi-club negotiation that has involved players moving across several Italian sides. The completion of his transfer signals the end of a long transfer merry-go-round that saw multiple dominoes fall into place.

Juventus Ready to Seal Nico Gonzalez Deal

Juventus have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the Argentine winger, with a transfer fee reportedly set at €30 million. Despite the clubs finalizing terms, Fiorentina held off on officially releasing the player until they had secured a replacement for him. The transfer is now all but done, with Gonzalez only needing to complete his medical tests before his move to Turin becomes official. Encouragingly for Juventus, Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino has omitted Nico Gonzalez from the squad for their opening Serie A match against Parma, an indication that the transfer is nearing its final stages.

Fiorentina Fill Void with Gudmundsson

Fiorentina’s insistence on holding back the deal until they had a new signing led them to Albert Gudmundsson, who has joined on loan. The Icelandic attacker comes from Genoa, and Fiorentina will have the option to make the move permanent at a price of €28.5 million. However, even Gudmundsson’s transfer faced a minor delay, as Genoa needed to bring in a replacement before letting the 26-year-old depart.

Genoa Land Pinamonti after Retegui Sale

Genoa’s hunt for a new striker was necessitated by the recent sale of Mateo Retegui to Atalanta just a week prior. Fortunately, Genoa were able to secure Andrea Pinamonti from Sassuolo. The former Inter forward joins Genoa on loan with an option to buy, in a deal that could be worth up to €16 million. With Pinamonti’s arrival, Genoa finally felt comfortable allowing Gudmundsson to leave, paving the way for the final pieces of the transfer chain to fall into place.
