Michael Olise Shines in Early Bayern Munich Performances

Michael Olise has made a smooth transition to life at Bayern Munich following his €53 million move from Crystal Palace in July. Despite a delayed start due to his involvement in the Olympic Games with France, the 22-year-old winger has hit the ground running for the German giants.

In just five appearances across all competitions, Olise has scored three goals and assisted another, impressing his new club and fans alike. His recent performances have earned him praise from Bayern Munich’s head coach, Vincent Kompany, who highlighted the young player’s fitness and contribution since returning from the Olympics.

Kompany’s Praise for Olise’s Impact

During Friday’s pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with Werder Bremen, Kompany acknowledged that Olise’s participation in the Olympics did not hinder his readiness for the season. “It wasn’t a problem that he played in the Olympics. He came back in great shape and is already making a positive impact on the team,” said Kompany. He added that Olise should maintain his current trajectory and stay composed as he continues to develop.

Olise’s adaptation has been swift, with Kompany emphasizing that he is already fulfilling an important role for Bayern and has the potential to make further strides in the coming months.

Support from Bayern’s Sporting Director

Christoph Freund, Bayern’s sporting director, also expressed his satisfaction with Olise’s early form. Reflecting on the winger’s performance at the Olympics, Freund commented, “He played excellently during the tournament. Despite all the changes—new club, country, and culture—he has adapted well.”

Freund acknowledged that Olise is experiencing a whirlwind of events, including his first call-up to the French national team, but reassured fans that the club is pleased with how he has started his journey at Bayern Munich.

Scoring Start in Bundesliga and Champions League

Olise recently opened his Bundesliga account by scoring Bayern’s fifth goal in their commanding 6-1 victory over Holstein Kiel last weekend. The Frenchman then followed it up with an outstanding brace in a 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night, solidifying his status as a key player in Bayern’s attacking lineup.

With his early performances, Michael Olise is showing why Bayern invested heavily in him, and he looks set to play an integral role as the season progresses.
