Juventus have resumed their interest in Victor Osimhen, reaching out over the weekend to assess whether the Napoli forward is open to a potential move. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Turin club is awaiting a response from the Nigerian striker before taking further steps toward formal discussions with Napoli.
The Serie A giants are not moving forward until they receive Osimhen’s approval, which is a crucial step before beginning talks about a transfer fee and contractual terms. Juventus remain intent on strengthening their attacking line, but only if the player signals his willingness to join.
Vlahovic exit key to deal progress
Juventus’ transfer plans for Osimhen are linked closely to the future of Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian forward has declined to extend his current contract, and the club is prepared to part ways with him in order to make room for new arrivals. Juventus are looking to recover around €40 million (£34m/$46m) from his sale.
If Vlahovic does leave, it would create the financial and tactical space required for Osimhen as well as Jonathan David, who is currently available without a transfer fee. The club is exploring a complete overhaul of its striking options.
Napoli prepared to offload Osimhen
Napoli are reportedly ready to part ways with Osimhen, especially after last year’s breakdown in relations between the club and the player. In anticipation of his departure, the team has identified Darwin Nunez as a prospective replacement for their forward line.
A key obstacle for Juventus, however, lies in Osimhen’s release clause. The €75 million (£63m/$86m) buyout only applies to clubs outside of Italy, which could complicate Juventus’ approach from a financial standpoint.
Despite receiving a massive proposal from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Osimhen declined the offer, signaling his desire to remain in European football. Last season, he delivered a standout performance on loan at Galatasaray, netting 37 goals and assisting eight times, playing a pivotal role in their Turkish Super Lig title win.
Juventus will now focus on securing Osimhen’s agreement before officially engaging with Napoli and outlining financial terms. In parallel, the club is expected to accelerate its efforts to move Vlahovic and make room for its attacking reshuffle.
