Juventus and Milan exploring Højlund deal

Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund may be on his way back to Serie A, as Italian media suggest a loan switch could soon materialize. The arrival of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford appears to have opened the door for the 22-year-old Dane to leave Old Trafford, with both Juventus and Milan emerging as potential destinations. Mbeumo has been photographed in Manchester ahead of his official unveiling, signalling that United are close to finalizing their attacking options for the new season.

United soften stance on loan as interest mounts

After initially hesitating to consider temporary deals, Manchester United are reportedly more open to a loan departure for Hojlund. Interest from Serie A has been consistent throughout the summer, with Inter, Juventus, and Milan all weighing up possible moves. Inter had been among the earliest suitors while they sought to strengthen their attack, though their interest cooled following the acquisition of Ange-Yoan Bonny.

Juventus and Milan have since become the primary contenders. Both clubs are pushing for a loan deal that includes an option to buy. Reports suggest United could now agree to a temporary move, provided there is a clause converting the loan to a permanent deal, potentially triggered by Champions League qualification in the 2025–26 season.

Hojlund’s time at United and future valuation

Hojlund joined Manchester United from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 for over €80 million. However, after two modest seasons at the club—scoring 16 goals in his debut campaign and 10 the following year—his long-term place in the squad has come under question. Despite not meeting initial expectations, he remains a valuable asset, with his current valuation standing around €45 million as of summer 2025. The possibility of a conditional transfer at the end of the loan could allow the Danish striker a fresh start while giving United future flexibility.
