During the meeting, which took place prior to his official dismissal last Friday, Xavi was reportedly briefed by president Joan Laporta, vice-president Rafa Yuste, and sporting director Deco. The decision to replace Xavi with Hansi Flick, who was announced as the new Barcelona boss, was conveyed to him during this gathering.
Xavi was informed of his impending departure after overseeing the morning training session at The Ciutat Esportiva. He was then summoned to a private meeting room by the Barcelona hierarchy for a brief and cordial exchange.
