Havertz Gains Confidence with Arsenal Scoring Streak

Scoring his fourth goal in the last seven games, Kai Havertz acknowledged a surge in his confidence at the moment. The German international confidently scored Arsenal’s second goal of the afternoon, securing a 2-0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion and maintaining his impressive goal-scoring streak.

In the post-match interview, Havertz expressed his excitement about his current run in front of goal. With a growing frequency of appearances on the scoresheet, he is excited to sustain his good form as he continues to contribute to the team.

“Your confidence always goes high when you score and contribute,” he said. “That’s the same with me, I’m happy and now it’s about being consistent with it, regularly week-by-week, and trying to keep that form going.

“It was a tough game [against] a good team, I think we should have scored some goals in the first half, but we talked about some things at half-time and made it a bit better.

“We always do some adjustments of course, but he said we need to keep on going, score a goal and get a good feeling out there. We also started the second half very well, had a couple of chances and sometimes set-pieces are so important, scored from it and sometimes it opens the door in a game. Today it did, and we are all very delighted.”

The win saw Arsenal go top of the Premier League ahead of their clash with Liverpool at Anfield this coming weekend.

However, Havertz quickly downplayed the importance of being at the top of the league and simply wants to concentrate on another big game next weekend.

“It’s always nice to see when you’re top, but it’s too early to talk about this,” he added. “We need to look at it game-by-game. Next week is another tough game, we’re going to need to prepare well for it, and hopefully win and enjoy the Christmas break.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta added about Arsenal’s win: “I think it was a phenomenal performance with a great feeling as well because of what happened last season, and the demands that Brighton put on you,” he said. “I think the team was outstanding today from the start to the end, and thankfully we deserved to win the game, and we won it.”
