Harry Kane speaks on Spurs Premier League form from Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has expressed his wish to see North London clubs Tottenham Hotspur lift the Premier League trophy.

Harry Kane is currently on international duty with the Three Lions of England and as expected, is fielding questions about his former club, Tottenham Hotspur.

In the summer of 2023, the 30-year-old striker left the club where he spent the better part of his career. From his debut in 2015 until August 2023 when he left the club, he was the club’s talisman. He left as their all time top goalscorer while also leaving his mark in the top flight of English football.

Bayern Munich signed him to replace Robert Lewandowski and he has delivered excellently well so far. Coincidentally, Spurs have also been playing their best football in almost two decades. They are top of the Premier League table and are also unbeaten in the league. Alongside Barcelona and Bayern, they are the only unbeaten team left in all competitions in Europe’s top five leagues.

Kane has been watching and following from afar but the English football media has  not had the opportunity to ask him what his thoughts are. They finally caught up with him at the England training camp ahead of their friendly match against Australia and their UEFA Euro Championship qualifiers against Italy, who they faced in the 2020 finals.

The Three Lions captain praised the squad, giving props especially to Ange Postecoglou and his friend, Heung-Min Son, who took over the captain’s armband from Hugo Lloris. He then expressed his wish to see them win the Premier League title while pointing out that his own focus in on winning with his current club, Bayern Munich.

“I have made it clear my whole career I am a Tottenham fan and I would love to see Tottenham do well,” he said. “Spurs are doing pretty well. It’s great to see. I think I’ve said before, the manager is doing great for them with the way they’re playing.”

“The fans are right behind the team and it’s definitely what they needed after the last few years. I’ll always keep an eye on Spurs and the Premier League.”

“Of course, there’s still a long way to go, but like the manager said, there’s no reason why the fans shouldn’t be excited and happy with the way things are going. Hopefully they can continue.”

“There is no other team in the Premier League I would want to win than Tottenham.”

“Also, I have to be respectful to Bayern Munich and of course, the fans know I will always have a soft spot for Spurs – there is no question about that – but I have got to put all my attention on Bayern Munich and to make us as successful as possible.”

“So, I know there will be questions, for sure, particularly when Tottenham are doing well.”

“Of course, I hope they do as well as possible but my main attention is where I am now and trying to perform for Bayern.”
