Eden Hazard announces shock retirement from football

Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has called it quits on football after announcing his retirement at the age of 32.

In a series of event that culminated in his decline down the years, the former Belgium captain left Real Madrid over the summer and became a free agent.

Hazard began his professional career in France with Lille where he grew a reputation as one of the best young talents in world football after recording a respectable 50 goals and providing 54 assists in 194 games.

As a reward for his form, the winger was subject of a transfer move from a host of European sides and secured a £32million move to Chelsea where he enjoyed a fruitful seven years of his career.

In his time at Stamford Bridge, Hazard won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, an EFL Cup and two Europa League titles, as well as making 202 goal contributions in 352 appearances for the Blues.

Hazard then moved to Real Madrid for a fee worth an initial £88.5million, but form and fitness meant he never hit the expected heights and his career took a downward toll from there.
