Chelsea to get new owner by March end, Raine group say

Raine group, the company in charge of brokering a deal for the sake of Chelsea, has stated that the club will have a new owner by the end of the month.

Roman Abramovich, through Raine group, received several bids to buy the club on Friday and the process of vetoing each bid has begun.

Boehly-Wyss consortium, a Nick Candy-led consortium, the Ricketts family, among other submitted bids in the range of Abramovich’s £3.5 billion asking price.

Chelsea are currently in dire straits as sanctions prevent them from functioning normally as a club and a new owner is the only solution. However, the club is on break for the next two weeks for the international break, giving them more room to prepare for the worst.

However, Raine group’s statement have come with assurances of a new owner by the time the international break is over, according to a reports from The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Chelsea and Raine group will also have the cooperation of the Premier League in the business dealings, who, through chief Richard Masters, said they will do all they can to speed the deal up.

Raine will cut down the bids to a handful and make their next move, which is the vetoing of the successful bid.
