Bernardo Silva will reportedly visit Barcelona to begin house hunting

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has reportedly arranged a visit to Barcelona to view houses. The arrival of the Portugal international could mean the end of the road for Frenkie de Jong at Barcelona.

Barcelona have not concluded their summer business despite the arrival of several players. The Joan Laporta-led administration of the Nou Camp side is desperate to return the club to its former glory. Their desperation has led them to sell some of their assets and buy several players.

Despite signing several players, the club is not content with what they have as the signing spree continues. The players who joined the Catalan club this summer include Franck Kessie (free transfer), Andreas Christensen (free transfer), Robert Lewandowski (£42.5 million), and Raphinha (£55m) and Jules Kounde (£42m).

The arrivals have raised the expectations at the Nou Camp, with their fans expecting them to decimate all before it. Barcelona stumbled on their first La Liga outing this summer as they played a 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano on Saturday at the Nou Camp. The draw has ignited talks of the arrival of another signing as Barcelona keep their gaze on signing Bernardo Silva from Manchester City.

Barcelona target Bernardo Silva

It was a tough Saturday night for Barcelona as they laboured to break down a dogged Rayo Vallecano. Xavi Hernandez unleashed his fearsome firepower against Rayo, but it wasn’t enough, and the Spanish gaffer now wants to sign another player to bolster his squad.

With the future of Frenkie de Jong yet to be settled, Barcelona have another player in their sights. The Catalan giants want to sign Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva. The Portugal international is reportedly planning to inspect some houses in the city, raising speculations of a move to Barcelona. The arrival of the Manchester City play could spell the end of Frenkie de Jong at the Nou Camp. Frenkie de Jong is a target for Chelsea, who are keen to sign him before the transfer market closes.

The Etihad faithful love Bernardo Silva and it was shown on Saturday when Manchester City took on Bournemouth. He received a rousing reception as he came out of the tunnel with the fans singing his name for a lengthy period.

Bernardo remained around for a while to show his gratitude to the fans after the final whistle. It would be easy to conclude that it was something of a farewell moment for Bernardo Silva.

No cash, but Barcelona remain hungry

Barcelona registered their new signings ahead of their game with Rayo. The Catalan club had to activate the fourth lever to allow them to complete the registration of four of their new signings, with Jules Kounde still unregistered. They could make room in their squad with the selling of De Jong.

Gerard Romero claims that talks continue between the club and the player over a move this summer. The transfer expert also claims Bernardo is due to inspect some houses in Barcelona this week.

Barcelona are negotiating with super-agent Jorge Mendes, and there is the belief that the Catalan club is preparing a proposal that can only be funded by selling De Jong. The success of a deal for Bernardo Silva could mean that the Dutchman is leaving the Nou Camp, with Manchester United and Chelsea the likely destinations.

Manchester United had agreed on a £72million fee some weeks ago, but there is a snag in completing the deal as De Jong wants to stay at the Camp Nou. There is also the issue of the £17m of deferred wages owed by Barca. The Dutchman is also not keen on playing in the Europa League.
