Battle of Zimbabwe ends in draw

Dynamos and Highlanders played to a 2–2 draw at Rufaro Stadium yesterday in one of the most entertaining matches of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season so far.

The highly anticipated Battle of Zimbabwe lived up to expectations as both teams started brightly, displaying attacking intent from the opening minutes.

Highlanders took the lead in the 37th minute when forward Never Rauzhi calmly finished into the bottom right corner after being played through by a clever flick from Benjamin Adeogun.

Bosso went into the halftime break holding a narrow advantage.

Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe responded immediately after the restart, making four substitutions as the Harare giants searched for an equaliser.

The changes paid off almost instantly when substitute Tellmore Pio levelled the score in the 46th minute with a long-range strike, scoring with his first touch of the match.

Highlanders regained the lead in the 77th minute through Mongameli Tshuma, who weaved past several Dynamos defenders before calmly tapping the ball home.

Dynamos responded quickly, equalising three minutes later when Collins Mujuru found space inside the box and finished to bring the home side level again.

Both teams pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, but neither side could find the breakthrough as the match ended 2-2.
