Saudi club Al-Hilal is closing in on the signing of Crysencio Summerville after reaching an agreement with West Ham on a deal worth up to £60 million. The transfer package includes an initial payment of £55 million, with a further £5 million linked to add-ons.
The Netherlands international has now been given permission to undergo a medical, moving him a step closer to completing the switch to the Riyadh-based side after the clubs settled on the transfer terms.
West Ham accept improved offer for Crysencio Summerville
West Ham had previously turned down an approach worth around £40 million for Summerville, but Al-Hilal returned with a significantly improved proposal that convinced the Championship club to sell.
The 24-year-old had also been reported as a target for Aston Villa, although the Saudi side has now moved into a position to complete the transfer.
With the agreement in place, Summerville has been cleared to undergo his medical before the move is finalised.
Al-Hilal transfer boosts West Ham’s finances
The transfer represents another major financial return for West Ham following their relegation from the Premier League in May.
Last month, the club also completed the sale of midfielder Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85 million while confirming that Jarrod Bowen would remain at the club after agreeing to an adjusted contract despite their drop into the Championship.
The latest sale continues West Ham’s efforts to generate funds while reducing the club’s wage bill.

Since returning to the Championship, West Ham have been reshaping their squad as they prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
The club have also decided to retain manager Nuno Espirito Santo as they attempt to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Selling Summerville forms part of that wider strategy, with the deal expected to provide further financial flexibility ahead of the new season.
