West Ham boss urges togetherness after cup exit

Jarrod Bowen was restrained by security personnel following West Ham’s 3-2 Carabao Cup loss at Wolves. The skipper initially moved towards the travelling contingent to acknowledge them but reacted angrily after words were exchanged.

The England international later addressed the situation, posting an apology online within an hour of full time. Bowen explained that his emotions had run high, stressing his affection for the club and supporters while admitting he must set a better standard. He assured followers that the team and fans would endure difficult moments together and looked ahead to Sunday’s fixture.

Potter calls for unity

Manager Graham Potter admitted the squad is struggling after three consecutive defeats. He described the mood as painful and emphasised the need for backing from all sides. According to him, the team is suffering but determined to move forward.

Potter underlined that both players and fans are feeling the disappointment. He praised Bowen’s commitment and service as captain, noting that the incident reflected passion from people who care deeply.

Pressure builds on Hammers

The defeat came courtesy of two late strikes by Jorgen Strand Larsen, adding to defensive problems that have already seen the team concede 11 times across three losses. A heavy 5-1 reverse against Chelsea had highlighted the issues only a week earlier.

Potter has recorded five wins in 22 matches since taking over from Julen Lopetegui in January, leaving pressure to mount early in the campaign. Next up is a Premier League visit to Nottingham Forest, where the team will attempt to halt their poor run.
