Marcus Rashford gets dream move

Manchester United and Barcelona have officially agreed on the loan transfer of Marcus Rashford, which is set to be made official in the coming hours.

The terms of the loan deal between Barcelona and Manchester United include an option for the deal to be made permanent next summer for €30 million. Barcelona will also cover his full wages and will not pay any loan fee to the Red Devils.

The player arrived at the offices of the Catalan giants on Sunday morning, according to media reports and photo sightings, and is set to undergo medicals, sign his contract, and be announced to the world as a new addition to Hansi Flick’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
The 27-year-old is expected to travel with the rest of the squad to Asia on Thursday for the first leg of their preseason tour, which means he will be joining his new teammates in training as soon as possible.

Different football figures related to United have weighed in on the player’s move to Spain, including Paul Pogba and Rio Ferdinand.

Pogba, speaking with streamer IShowSpeed on a YouTube live stream, said: “That’s crazy. I’m happy for him because they took his number out.”

He went on to add: “Manchester United, they’re losing a great player. Marcus Rashford – that will be great for Barcelona, to be honest. I’m not even talking about Manchester United because they’ve bought two players, and the new manager wants to do his thing, I guess, so it’s not really his fault if he doesn’t believe in someone.”

“He needs to win at the end, you know, if he doesn’t play well, he doesn’t win, and they’re going to sack him. But, like, I’m happy for Marcus.”

Ferdinand, on the other hand, directed his comments towards Manchester United and their handling of Rashford, saying, “There must have been so much going on behind the scenes that we’re just not aware of. And Marcus isn’t someone who really wants to talk and do interviews, so you have to respect that.”

“What are the issues that have led to a young kid that’s a graduate of the academy at Manchester United, which is famous for all of the great players that have come through there, saying that he wants to leave?”

Meanwhile, Teddy Sheringham took the opportunity to bash Rashford, saying, “I hope Rashford doesn’t get the move he’s hankering for. If you’re going from Man United to Barça, that’s a step up, but he doesn’t deserve it! You can’t deserve it if you haven’t put the hard work in.”
