Burnley have confirmed the arrival of Kyle Walker from Manchester City, with the fee reported to be worth up to £5 million. The experienced right-back completed his medical on Friday before signing a contract that ties him to Turf Moor for the next two seasons.
Now 35, Walker reunites with head coach Scott Parker, a former teammate from their time together at Tottenham Hotspur. The England international expressed his enthusiasm for the move, saying he is eager to contribute his leadership and skills to a squad he sees as full of potential. Walker added that Parker’s ambitions for the upcoming campaign played a major role in convincing him to make the switch.
Return to the Premier League after Milan loan
Walker spent the first half of the previous season with Manchester City, making 15 appearances before going out on loan to AC Milan in January. Despite featuring for the Italian giants, the club opted against turning the temporary spell into a permanent transfer.
During his seven-year stay at the Etihad Stadium, Walker amassed 319 matches and claimed 17 pieces of silverware, including a historic Treble in 2023. His professional journey began at Sheffield United before he rose to prominence at Tottenham and later joined City in 2017 for an initial fee of £45 million.
Fifth summer addition at Turf Moor
Burnley, who earned promotion back to the top flight following their 2024 relegation, continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. Walker becomes the fifth player to join the Clarets this summer, following Axel Tuanzebe, Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss, and Loum Tchaouna.
The club announced his signing on social media using a creative twist—a reference to Lionel Richie’s “Hello” music video.
