Javier Clemente, former manager of the Spanish national team, has criticised Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez’s methods as a coach.
Clemente is a manager with almost 50 years experience in the dugout of various clubs. He has coached several LaLiga clubs, international sides, and the Spanish national team whom he managed between 1992 and 1998.
He is one of the most recognisable figures in Spanish football having coached Real Betis, Athletic Club Bilbao, Atlético 5 Madrid and Espanyol at various times during his very long career.
He is also a very outspoken and controversial figure in Spanish football who likes to stir the water sometimes with his scathing comments and remarks against clubs, players and managers.
Barcelona manager Xavi is the latest victim of his scathing remarks as he termed the former midfielder managerial style as too “inexperienced” and “depending too much on a computer”.

Clemente, who is currently Libya’s national team manager, spoke on a Spanish television show about modern coaches.
He lashed out at modern coaching styles claiming that most of them depend on a computer, singling out Xavi as an example.
“There are too many modern coaches with not much experience and they will end up having to provide a computer, he said on Deportes Cuatro.
“The day that I have to explain my methods with a computer then it will be a problem.
“Xavi has entered a club with big problems. He has been a star and he has to look good.
“Training at Al Sadd is like training at Real Madrid. He is starting to be a coach now.
“He wants the players to play like he played and that’s not being a coach.”
