Valencia looking into possibility of keping Bryan Gil beyond the summer

Valencia winger Bryan Gil, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, has impressed the Valencia coaching staff in his first three months on loan at the club and reports claim that they are considering keeping him beyond the current season.

The Sevilla academy graduate has yet to find his footing in club football since breaking into the first team at Sevilla in 2019. Loan stints at Leganes and Eibar made English club Tottenham Hotspur agree to swap him for long term servant Erik Lamela at the beginning of the season.

His fortunes did not change after moving to the English capital and he returned to LaLiga in six months on loan with Valencia. He has since found more opportunities at the Mestalla and has taken good advantage of them to impress the board of the club, who now want to keep him beyond the season.

Gil’s loan deal does not contain a purchase option which means that the player will return to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium at the end of the six-month loan spell. Valencia, however, have inquired about adding an extra loan year to his deal with the player reportedly open to the possibility. Reports also state that the coming week will prove crucial for any negotiations.

Gill only played a total of 57 Premier League minutes at Spurs but has started six of the 11 games he has played in LaLiga for Valencia, bringing him back before the gaze of Spain national team manager Luis Enrique, who had already called up the youngster.

Gil’s performances may earn him a spot in Spain’s squad to take on Albania and Iceland in friendly matches which will serve as warm-ups for the upcoming FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Spain national team squad list will be released next week and Valencia are hoping that his form with them will get him into the squad, which in turn will help their bud to convince him to stay for one more season at the Mestalla.

The 21-year-old is not currently in Antonio Conte’s plans and Spurs are looking into stocking their ranks with another winger in the summer. Another loan for the 21-year-old will benefit both teams, a position that Spurs reportedly holds on the matter.

Tottenham to use Gil as bargaining chip for Valencia star

Meanwhile, Spanish transfer news outlet Fichajes have reported that Spurs are hoping to use Bryan Gil as a bargaining chip to sign Carlos Soler from Valencia.

Soler’s contract at the Mestalla runs out in 2023 and there have been no major moves for a renewal from either party, leaving the Valencia hierarchy very concerned, per reports. Meanwhile, Spurs are very interested in the 25-year-old midfielder and will try to get him in the summer.

With Gil performing well for the 2019 Copa Del Rey champions, it is claimed by Fichajes that the Fabio Paratici-led technical team at Spurs will offer a swap deal to Valencia, who are also very interested in keeping Gil.

Spurs, however, may have to do battle with Juventus and West Ham United who are also thought to be both interested in Soler.
