United quartet nearing injury comeback ahead of key fixtures

Manchester United are set to receive a boost with the potential return of four players from injury, including teenage defender Leny Yoro. The French centre-back, who had to wait four months for his first appearance due to an ankle problem sustained shortly after his £52m switch from Lille, had established himself in Ruben Amorim’s backline before suffering a foot injury in March.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Yoro may be fit in time for United’s upcoming clash against Nottingham Forest. Also nearing a return is Harry Maguire, whose last match was the FA Cup loss to Fulham at the beginning of March. The English defender, recently mentioned by national team manager Thomas Tuchel, has overcome a calf injury and is set to be available for selection again.

Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has also been sidelined for an extended period due to a muscular issue, keeping him out for nearly two months. Despite missing first-team action, the young England international has remained in the spotlight following reports about his potential interest in a move abroad.

Surprise return for heaven amidst ongoing absences

One of the more unexpected comebacks is that of Ayden Heaven, who was forced off on a stretcher during United’s match against Leicester City before the international break in March. While initial fears suggested a prolonged spell on the sidelines, those concerns have been dismissed, and the defender is likely to resume training this month. However, his availability for the trip to Forest remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, Patrick Dorgu – who will now be known as Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu – has completed a domestic suspension and will be available for selection. Despite these returns, United still have several key players unavailable. Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans remain out, leaving the defensive options limited.

Shaw and Diallo nearing end of recovery

In more positive news, Luke Shaw is progressing well in his recovery and could be back on the pitch soon. Additionally, Amad Diallo is working towards making an appearance before the season concludes.

United face an important week ahead, beginning with a visit to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday before hosting fierce rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.
