Udogie’s Injury Casts Doubt on Season and Euro 2024

Tottenham Hotspur’s Destiny Udogie, the Italy international, faces an uncertain future in the remainder of the season due to an injury setback. The full-back took to Instagram to confirm the unfortunate news, sharing a photo from a hospital room alongside his mother. In his post, Udogie expressed gratitude to his supporters while acknowledging the unpredictability of life’s plans.

“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord,” Udogie wrote, reflecting on his situation. Despite the setback, he remained thankful for the backing he received throughout the season. However, the specifics of his injury and the duration of his absence remain undisclosed, as the Tottenham Hotspur website has yet to address the matter officially.

Uncertainty Surrounding Euro 2024 Participation

The absence of official confirmation from Tottenham Hotspur has led to speculation about Udogie’s availability for the upcoming EURO 2024 tournament. With his spot in Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad seemingly assured, concerns arise regarding his ability to recover in time for the competition. According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham anticipates a three-month absence for Udogie, which could potentially rule him out of Euro 2024 contention.

Udogie, born and raised in Verona, has made significant strides in his career, progressing through the ranks of Hellas academy before moving on to Udinese. His €18 million transfer to Tottenham in 2022 marked a milestone in his journey, although he spent an additional season on loan at Udinese. Throughout the current campaign, Udogie has made 30 appearances for Spurs, contributing two goals and three assists to the team’s efforts. Despite his young age of 21, he has already earned three senior caps for Italy, showcasing his potential on the international stage.
