The Gambling Addict Who Found a New Lease on Life

Costern Sadza’s Journey from Perennial Loser to Valued Employee. Costern Sadza, once known for his chronic gambling losses, has found a new lease on life thanks to the compassionate recruitment policy of MWOS.

Sadza, also referred to as Manyama in the Highfield Machipisa MWOS branch, spent years trying to hit the jackpot, both in Zimbabwe and South Africa, but to no avail. His relentless pursuit of a win only deepened his losses.

A turning point came when a MWOS employee noticed Sadza’s plight and offered him a position as a general worker. Seizing the opportunity, Sadza quickly proved his worth and was promoted to cashier within four months, turning his life around and curbing his gambling habits.

“Life is now moving in a better direction, and I’m grateful to God for remembering me during my hour of need,” Sadza said. “I used to be one of the first to enter the MWOS betting shop every day, driven by the hope that maybe today would be the day.”

Now a responsible family man, Sadza is able to support his mother and siblings. Additionally, he contributes to the company’s security team and plays for MWOS FC in the ZIFA Northern Division One Soccer League.

He expressed deep gratitude to MWOS Director, Patrick Tamson, stating, “If it wasn’t for his kind recruitment policy, I don’t know what could have happened in my life. The inclusive recruitment process and his continued support have made a significant difference.”

Sadza’s story is a testament to MWOS’s commitment to social responsibility and community support, transforming lives through opportunity and kindness.
