Jadon Sancho reiterates that “anything is possible” for his new side Chelsea with his new teammate Cole Palmer following the forward sensational start to the new campaign.
Palmer made history in the game against Brighton on Saturday when he became the first player in the premier league to score four goals in the first half of a game.
Sancho hails phenomenal Palmer
“When you have a player in your team like Cole Palmer, then anything is possible,” Jadon Sancho.
“I’ve known Cole a long time, since our days together at [Manchester] City. I’ve always watched him and I always thought he would go on to be a great player. He’s showing that now at Chelsea”.
“We see what he’s capable of each day in training, we see the quality he has and honestly, it’s no real surprise to me to see him score four goals”.
“In fact, he could have scored five or six goals! I’m sure he will be fuming not to add to his tally but in all seriousness, he’s such a quality player. Having a player like Cole alongside you is very good and I’m happy to assist him.”
Sancho was involved in two of the four goals Palmer scored, as he won a penalty and also set up the fourth, making it three assists in three games so far since joining the London side from Manchester United.
“I thought I started off a bit slow [against Brighton] but I feel like I grew into the game,” Sancho continued.
“I’m happy to have been able to assist for goals in recent games, I’m settling in well here and I just want to keep this momentum going and keep being able to assist my team-mates. Or even get a first goal, that would be nice!”
Palmer could have scored more
Speaking about his four goal feat, Palmer said: “I should have had five or six,” Palmer told BBC’s Match of the Day. “When I missed the first chance I was upset but with the way they played and their high line I felt we’d get more chances.
“The manager set up a good game plan, we knew how to attack them with first-time passes in behind.
“Brighton are a good team, pass the ball well. They play similar to us. Three points is what we needed and that is what we got.
“I try and play every game the best I can.”
