Roberto Carlos offers advice to new Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold

Former Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold made his first public appearance as a Real Madrid player in style this weekend, turning heads at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

The England international shared a special moment with Los Blancos legend Roberto Carlos, offering fans a glimpse of the exciting new chapter ahead at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Last month, Alexander-Arnold officially announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, bringing a close to a long-running saga that had dominated headlines for months. The move confirmed what many had suspected for some time – one of football’s worst-kept secrets was finally out in the open.

The transfer was officially confirmed this week, with Real Madrid opting to pay a £10 million fee to finalize the deal ahead of schedule. The decision ensures the England international will be available in time for the start of Los Blancos’ Club World Cup campaign later this month.

The 26-year-old made his first public appearance as a Real Madrid player on Sunday, spotted in the VIP paddock at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. There, he had a memorable encounter with none other than club legend Roberto Carlos.

The meeting between the past and present of full-back royalty quickly went viral, especially after Carlos was seen offering some tongue-in-cheek advice to the new Bernabéu recruit.

“You only need three words here,” Carlos joked as he patted Trent on the back. “Good morning, good night, and my friend… that’s it!”

Both men shared a laugh as cameras captured the exchange, with Alexander-Arnold clearly enjoying the light-hearted moment alongside one of the game’s all-time greats. It was a fitting welcome from a legend to Madrid’s newest Galáctico.

The right-back was one of several England stars spotted at the Spanish Grand Prix, joining the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Bukayo Saka in the VIP paddock. The Three Lions are set to play their third match under Thomas Tuchel next weekend, facing Andorra in Barcelona at the home of RCD Espanyol.

With the long-running saga over his Liverpool departure finally resolved, Alexander-Arnold is now set to join up with his new Real Madrid teammates. In just a fortnight, he’ll travel with the squad to the United States as they prepare for the revamped Club World Cup – his first opportunity to make an early impact in white.

This year’s tournament will feature 30 teams for the first time, with Real Madrid entering as early favorites to lift the trophy.

Los Blancos will kick off their campaign on June 18 against Al-Hilal, a strong side boasting players like Aleksandar Mitrović, Ruben Neves, and Kalidou Koulibaly. Four days later, Madrid will face Mexican champions Pachuca before concluding their group stage against Austrian powerhouse Red Bull Salzburg on June 26.
