According to reports, Real Madrid are growing rather confident about their chances of completing a move to sign PSG forward Kylian Mbappe this summer.
The France international is only six weeks away from running down the length on his contract and it looks likely that he will leave the French giants on a free transfer this summer.
As it stands, PSG still harbour hopes of convincing Mbappe to sign a new contract and have even offered him a mega salary increase. However, the Frenchman has yet to respond to any of those offers as well.
As per French outlet Le Parisien, Real officials are so confident about the move that they have already informed their staff and players about the incoming arrival.
Although, Mbappe is yet to make any official announcement on his future until the end of the Ligue 1 season which ends on May 21.
The Frenchman has enjoyed another fruitful campaign, scoring 30 goals and 19 assists from 41 outings across all competitions this term.
Real Madrid’s obsession with Mbappe
Real Madrid are easily one of the strongest teams in Europe and it’s clear to see.
However, it is also clear to see that they have an aging squad led by Karim Benzema who is nearing 35. With that in mind, they are already in search of another gem to replace Benzema and who better to do it than a younger, faster, more skillful and prolific compatriot in Kylian Mbappe. The 23-year-old certainly fits the bill of a ‘galactico’ signing with massive money and reputation on his shoulders to go with.
It is no surprise that two of the richest teams in football are battling it out for Mbappe. His ability is simply out of this world. There’s also the obvious fact that he is still young despite boasting numbers that forwards five years older than his age would be proud of.
At just 23, Mbappe could still lead the line for Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid for the next decade. His goal scoring rate is insane, having bagged a respectable 167 goals in 215 games in his time so far with PSG. No player aged 23 and under comes anywhere close to those numbers, with the exception of Erling Haaland.
It could be only a matter of time before Real Madrid announce what could be one of the biggest transfer moves in recent history. Their last big money spend on Eden Hazard did not go as planned but a move for Mbappe would be much different.
The Frenchman still has his best years ahead of him and is easily one of the best in the world. How good is it that they would literally get him without paying a transfer fee.
