Real Madrid conclude deal for Palmeiras teenage star Endrick

Real Madrid have concluded a deal that will see Palmeiras teenage star Endrick at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Spanish giants beat several other clubs on the tail of the player for his signature.

Several Real Madrid players are reaching the end of their careers, and Los Blancos continue their quest to freshen up the squad and inject new talent. The Spanish giants have chosen a different route from what obtained at the club in the past. Used to signing top stars, Real Madrid has opted to go for younger players with bright prospects.

With the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City muddying the pool with their deep pockets, Real Madrid understands they cannot compete on an even keel with these clubs. Los Blancos are not only signing young talent but have gone Brazil.

Following the successful experiment at the club, which led to Real Madrid winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season, they have continued to push in that direction. In an effort to boost the side, Los merengues have agreed to sign teenage star Endrick in 2024.

Real Madrid reach an agreement to sign Endrick

Real Madrid have agreed to a deal with Palmeiras to sign forward Endrick in 2024. The Spanish giants announced the agreement on Thursday.

The 16-year-old teenage star will move to Real Madrid when he turns 18 in July 2024. Several reports describe Endrick as one of Brazil’s most exciting young talents.

Palmeiras opted to keep the terms of the deal confidential, but ESPN reports that according to their sources, Endrick would join Real Madrid on an initial three-year contract with the option of a further three-year extension. ESPN reported that the transfer fee is worth about €72 million, including variables and taxes.

In a post on their website, Real Madrid said the club, Palmeiras, Endrick and his family reached an agreement that sees the player move to the Santiago Bernabeu when he is legally allowed to do so. The statement means he will join Real Madrid when he clocks 18 in July 2024.

The statement continued that until the set date, Endrick would continue training with Palmeiras. The player will be in Madrid in the days to come on a visit to the club’s facilities.

Real Madrid continue on a successful path

Real Madrid have several young Brazilians in the squad that have cemented themselves in the team. Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Militao have become an integral part of the team. Vinicius and Rodrygo arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu the same way Endrick would join the club.

Los Blancos beat all comers to the signature of the player. Some clubs that sought to sign the player include Barcelona, PSG and Chelsea.

Madrid have enjoyed success in the Brazilian market in recent years.

The club’s chief scout Juni Calafat led the strategy to work the Brazilian market. He was the one who worked on the deals for Vinicius Junior in 2017, Rodrygo in 2018 and Reinier Jesus in 2020.

Other young players that have arrived at the club include Camavinga and Aurielien Tchouameni.

Endrick made his debut for Palmeiras’ first team in October. He became the youngest goalscorer for the club when he scored a brace against Athletico Paranaense on Oct. 25. He also helped the club win the 2022 Brasileirao Serie A title with three goals in seven appearances.

Real Madrid expect Endrick will eventually replace star striker Karim Benzema, who is 34.
