Neymar in the dark over PSG plans as Chelsea circle

PSG have not decided on what to do with Brazilian forward Neymar, amid rumours suggesting they want to sell the Brazilain. The forward has insisted that he wants to remain at the Paris club.

Paris Saint-Germain learned a vital lesson last season as they failed to set the world alight. The Qatar-backed club believed acquiring football stars was enough to win them the coveted UEFA Champions League title. In the end, they crashed out of the competition in the Round-of-16, losing to eventual winners Real Madrid.

PSG made a rash of signings with the signing of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Giorginio Wijnaldum. They boasted the trident of Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, with the world expecting domination. The team under Mauricio Pochettino failed to hit the heights.

The performance of many players at the club has come under scrutiny, including Lionel Messi, but particularly Neymar. Rumours have been rife of the club parting ways with the Brazilian, but nothing has come of it yet. Neymar also claims that he does not know what PSG has in store for him, but he plans to see out his contract at the club.

PSG yet to decide on Neymar

The rumours making the rounds of PSG being keen on selling the mercurial Brazilian Neymar may be credible. A few clubs are waiting in the wings to try and sign the Brazilian should PSG make him available.

The latest reports suggest that PSG have not decided on the future of the player at the club. Despite ongoing debates over the future of Neymar at PSG, the Brazilian seems to have killed the hopes of interested parties by revealing that he wants to continue at the club.

Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in making a sensational move for the Brazilian earlier in the window. As the situation in Paris continued to unfold, the west London giants harboured hopes of signing the Brazilian. It all seems dead in the water following the latest admission by the player.

Neymar is still waiting to discover what the new manager plans concerning his future.

Neymar – down the pecking order

The PSG attack is a high-value attack and one to be feared by many if they click. The clicking by the attacking trident has become massive as the players are still seeking to find some chemistry.

In the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, only Kylian Mbappe showed up to the party, scoring two goals over the two legs. Lionel Messi even contrived to miss a penalty, while Neymar was a no-show.

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have overshadowed the most expensive signing at the Paris club. Neymar has fallen in stature and status at PSG, seeing Mbappe rise to become the top dog at the club, thanks to his latest blockbuster contract.

Neymar allegedly left Barcelona for Messi to become the head honcho elsewhere, but it hasn’t exactly gone to script for the Brazilian.

Many failed Champions League exploits and injuries contrived to reduce Neymar to tears on numerous occasions. Perhaps a new lease of life elsewhere would give him a chance to lift himself again. A Chelsea move would not be a bad idea as he is already used to Thomas Tuchel, who once managed PSG.

The Brazilian is in limbo and said he wants to stay in Paris.
