Milan target Jashari with San Siro dreams

AC Milan are growing increasingly confident in their pursuit of Club Brugge’s Ardon Jashari, thanks to the midfielder’s long-standing affection for the club. The Switzerland international, who turns 23 next month, has never hidden his admiration for the Rossoneri. His emotional ties to the club may prove decisive in a transfer battle that also includes interest from Manchester City.

Speaking to Belgian outlet HLN, Jashari recalled the powerful experience of playing at San Siro earlier this season in the UEFA Champions League. Representing Club Brugge, he stepped onto the pitch of the historic stadium and found himself overwhelmed by the moment. “In the second half, I looked up and saw this incredible wall in front of me, the Curva Sud of the great AC Milan,” he said. “I was so proud to be there.”

The midfielder also shared a vivid childhood memory of watching a Milan match in person. “As a kid, we went to see Milan vs. Barcelona and were right at the top, in the third tier,” he recalled. That experience left a lasting impression. “I was eight years old. Since that day, playing at San Siro has always been my dream, and suddenly I was there.”

Rossoneri hold key advantage

Jashari’s strong emotional connection to AC Milan gives the club an advantage over other suitors. While Brugge remain firm in their valuation of the player, Milan’s edge lies in the midfielder’s personal desire to wear the red and black shirt. That desire could help facilitate the move despite competition from clubs with greater financial power.

Milan may also benefit from favorable relationships off the pitch. According to Sky Sport Italia, Jashari is represented by Albanian agents, and this could work in the Rossoneri’s favor. The club’s new sporting director, Igli Tare, already has a working relationship with them and has reportedly held initial discussions. Tare’s experience and connections could help Milan move quickly and efficiently in what may otherwise be a complicated negotiation.

Transfer fee still a hurdle

While the player’s willingness is evident, reaching an agreement with Club Brugge remains the main challenge. Milan are expected to submit an opening offer of €28 million for Jashari, but this proposal is likely to be rejected. The Belgian side reportedly values the player at €33 million and may hold firm in their demands.

Nonetheless, Milan are determined to bring in a player who not only fits their sporting needs but is also deeply motivated to join. If the Rossoneri can find a financial compromise with Club Brugge, they may soon welcome a midfielder whose dream has always been to call San Siro home.
