AC Milan have announced the list of players who will travel with the team for their upcoming pre-season tour of Asia and Australia. Head coach Massimiliano Allegri will be without summer additions Luka Modric and Santiago Gimenez for the friendlies against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Perth Glory.
Modric and Gimenez not included in travelling group
Luka Modric, who recently joined Milan, will not take part in the tour as he has been given extended leave following his participation in the FIFA Club World Cup held in the United States earlier this month. Similarly, fellow new signing Santiago Gimenez is still on vacation after representing Mexico at the Gold Cup.
Other notable absentees include Emerson Royal, currently sidelined through injury, and Tommaso Pobega, who is nearing a permanent move to Bologna. Ismael Bennacer, Yacine Adli, and Devis Vasquez have also not been selected, as none of them have yet reported for training under Allegri and are expected to depart the club this summer.
Star names present and youth prospects included
Despite several omissions, most of the club’s regulars will make the trip, with Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic among those named in the squad. Pulisic did not feature in a training match against Milan Futuro on Saturday, but he remains part of the travelling team.
New arrivals Samuele Ricci and Pietro Terracciano will also be involved in the pre-season matches. Milan are set to face Arsenal in Singapore on July 23, take on Liverpool in Hong Kong on July 26, and wrap up their tour with a fixture against Perth Glory on July 31.
Allegri has also called up several young talents who will have the opportunity to impress during the tour. These include goalkeepers Lorenzo Torriani and Noah Raveyre, defender Matteo Dutu, full-back Vittorio Magni, midfielder Christian Comotto, and forward Mattia Liberali.
