Kylian Mbappe reveals to the fans that they should expect confirmation of his next club “in the next few days”.
The Ligue 1 top scorer played his last game in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt on Saturday, guiding the French Champions to another trophy, lifting the Coupe de France at Lyon’s expense. Mbappe has stated that he will be leaving the club earlier this season, but he has not yet disclosed what his next destination will be.
Nevertheless, it is generally anticipated that Mbappe will sign for free to Real Madrid, and the 25-year-old was recently questioned about why he hasn’t revealed his destination as of now.
Mbappe reveals when he will announce his new club
“Because I think the best thing to do is to finish saying goodbye,” Mbappe said after the Coupe de France win. “All I wanted was to finish well.”
“There is a time for everything. I will announce my new club in due course. It will be only a few days away so there is no problem.”
When asked if his future would be decided before this summer’s Euro 2024, the Frenchman added: “I still don’t know, there are still some details. The most important thing was to win and to experience these final emotions.”
After seven years at Parc des Princes, Mbappe leaves PSG with a record of 256 goals and 108 assists in 308 appearances.
“I always understood where I was, this unique experience of playing for PSG,” Mbappe said, reflecting ahead of his departure. “Playing for PSG, I would recommend it.”
“I was lucky enough to experience it. What I have had, I wouldn’t experience anywhere else. Now I’m going to experience something else and I’m sure that will be magical too.”
What next for Mbappe?
It is only a matter of when he would be there, rather then where he would go. Mbappe is already expected to be a Real Madrid player and is already said to have agreed a lucrative deal with the Spanish giants.
Asked recently in an interview, Jude Bellingham has already spoken about the prospect of playing alongside the Frenchman next season. He said: “You ask me about the position next year, I don’t pick the team and I certainly don’t make the transfers but you know, Kylian Mbappe, what a player. Who wouldn’t want to play with someone as good as him? I don’t want to kind of put any more pressure on the situation, I know for him it’s probably difficult having everyone always talking about him, but yeah it would be really nice.”
