Marco Reus set for LA Galaxy move

In a major career shift, Marco Reus, the former Borussia Dortmund star, is set to undergo a medical with LA Galaxy, indicating his imminent move to the MLS.

Reus, who spent 12 remarkable years at Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion, announced last season that he would be leaving the club. Despite leading Dortmund to their third Champions League final, his farewell was marred by a defeat to Real Madrid, denying him a grand exit on the European stage.

Throughout his time with BvB, Reus secured two DFB-Pokal titles, cementing his status as one of the club’s legendary figures. His journey is not over yet, with a new chapter set to unfold in the United States.

New adventures in the MLS

The 35-year-old forward is expected to arrive on the US West Coast today to complete his transfer to LA Galaxy, with plans to sign a contract extending until 2026. There are mixed reports regarding the contract duration, with some sources suggesting it might conclude in December 2025.

LA Galaxy’s head coach, Greg Vanney, shared his thoughts on Reus’ arrival, stating: “Having a player of his caliber brings invaluable experience, top-notch quality, and versatility, along with a championship mindset. These attributes are incredibly beneficial for any team.”

Reus’ transition to LA Galaxy signifies the beginning of an exciting new phase, promising to inject his extensive experience and talent into the MLS and elevate the team’s performance on the field.
