Man United Open to Rashford Loan: Milan Favorites

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to let Marcus Rashford leave on a dry loan for the remainder of the season, with AC Milan currently ahead of Barcelona in the race for the English forward. Talks between Rashford’s representatives and European clubs have advanced, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, which suggests the striker is edging closer to a move to San Siro.

No Purchase Option in Proposed Loan Deal

The proposed loan would not include an option for Milan to make the move permanent, which simplifies negotiations for the Italian club. This arrangement allows the Rossoneri to focus solely on covering Rashford’s salary until the end of the season. Manchester United, however, would need to subsidize part of the player’s wages, given his six-month salary stands at approximately €6 million.

Milan are reportedly prepared to shoulder at least half of Rashford’s wages during the loan period, while discussions continue over the remaining portion. Barcelona, meanwhile, remain in the race but are at a disadvantage due to their ongoing financial difficulties, which limit their ability to compete with Milan’s proposal.

Rashford Drawn to San Siro Move

Rashford has expressed a preference for joining Milan, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that key figures from the club have presented the project to his entourage. Zlatan Ibrahimović and Sergio Conceição have outlined Milan’s ambitions, while compatriot Fikayo Tomori has spoken positively about the team and life in the city, further swaying Rashford’s decision.

While Barcelona have also held discussions with the forward’s agent and brother, Milan’s financial readiness and compelling pitch have put them in pole position to secure the England international. Negotiations are ongoing, with Milan pushing to finalize the deal and strengthen their squad for the season’s second half.
