Lloris concerned about injuries to Pogba and Benzema ahead of the World Cup

Hugo Lloris has voiced concerns following injuries to Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema. The Tottenham goalkeeper said France need their best players for the World Cup.

It is just a few months away from the kick-off of the World Cup. The event is in Qatar, with 32 nations jostling to win the World Cup. The tournament promises to be exciting as the hosts have lined up a memorable competition for the world.

While the competition will miss some top dogs, the interest is reaching a crescendo. Some of the countries that would be absent at the World Cup are Nigeria, Columbia, Sweden, Chile and Italy. It should not remove from the pomp & pageantry associated with the event.

While nations are preparing to ensure their teams are in tip-top shape ahead of the competition, the players are also concerned about their fitness. The World Cup will be hosted in the middle of the season and has opened players to fitness issues. Fitness worries have cropped up, and Hugo Lloris is bothered about some French players.

Hugo Lloris concerned about his teammates

It is about two months to the kick-off of the FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar, and France captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is a worried man. Things are not looking well for Les Bleus, with a couple of their players falling to injuries ahead of the Mundial. Lloris is enjoying the season with Tottenham but says the injuries to Paul Pogba and Karim Benzema are worrisome. If the two players miss the World Cup, it will be a massive blow to the chances of the defending champions retaining their trophy.

According to recent reports, Les Bleus midfielder Paul Pogba is a massive doubt for the World Cup in Qatar this November. The former Manchester United midfielder had knee surgery this week and is doubtful for the competition.

Pogba initially preferred to undergo conservative therapy to solve a lesion to the lateral meniscus in his right knee. Doctor Roberto Rossi has opened up on the player’s choice claiming that it worsened the injury and now leaves Pogba a massive doubt for the France contingent to Qatar.

More worries for Les Bleus

On Tuesday night, Real Madrid were in Glasgow, led by their captain Karim Benzema in a Champions League tie against Celtic. By the pedigree of the two teams, it was supposed to be a routine match for Los Merengues, but it has left the France national team chewing its nails.

The game was still in its infancy when Benzema left the pitch. The Frenchman hobbled off the pitch as his teammates beat Celtic 3-0.

Hugo Lloris is bothered about the injuries that have been cropping up lately. The thigh injury to Benzema may not be serious, but the Tottenham goalkeeper is concerned.

The France goalkeeper said the team would need its best players in November and hopes they recover in time for the World Cup. The Tottenham goalkeeper is less confident about the chances of Paul Pogba to make the World Cup.

France starts their World Cup defence against Australia on November 22 in Al-Wakrah.
