According to reports, Liverpool is projected to earn upwards of £60 million each year from their fresh kit agreement with Adidas.
Liverpool have just finalized a five-year deal with Adidas, set to start at the beginning of the next season. The German sportswear powerhouse outbid Liverpool’s current kit supplier, Nike, along with Puma.
The Merseyside club expects to benefit significantly, anticipating that the deal will bring in over £60 million annually, according to The Guardian.
This marks a substantial increase from their existing contract with Nike, which assures a minimum of £30 million annually. While that figure grows with commercial partnerships, performance bonuses, and loyalty payments, it still falls short of the amount Liverpool is expected to earn from their deal with Adidas.
This will align them with Premier League competitors Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea, who each make approximately £60-65 million annually from their contracts with Adidas, Puma, and Nike, respectively.
The new kit deal is expected to provide a significant financial boost, which could be reinvested in the squad, infrastructure, and youth development programs. This financial injection aligns with Liverpool’s long-term strategic plans to remain competitive both domestically and in Europe.
The Reds are poised to equal their title rivals in terms of kit deals, and they are already ahead of the competition on the field.
Liverpool in the 2023/24 Premier League
Under Arne Slot, the team is at the top of the Premier League with 21 points from their first eight matches, leading Manchester City, the defending champions, by one point.
Arsenal sits in third place, four points behind Liverpool, while Chelsea is in sixth, trailing by an additional three points.
Liverpool has had an excellent start to their Champions League campaign, securing victories in their first two matches against AC Milan and Bologna. In the Premier League as well, there were talks about them not facing a ‘top’ side yet but after their victory against Chelsea last weekend, they have answered one of those questions and will now be looking ahead to another big game against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.
For now though, Liverpool will resume their play on Wednesday night, taking on Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
