Leeds United has confirmed the signing of center-back Tarik Muharemović from Italian club Sassuolo. The 23-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract with the Whites, with the reported transfer fee standing at £34.1 million.
The deal makes Muharemović the club’s second addition of the summer transfer window, following the earlier arrival of Harry Wilson.
Career path and international experience
Before joining Sassuolo, Muharemović was part of the Juventus setup, although he did not make a senior appearance for the Turin club. Earlier in his career, he played six first-team matches for Austrian side Wolfsberger AC before making the move to Italy.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina international also featured at the 2026 World Cup, where he made three appearances for his country. During the tournament, he was sent off in Bosnia & Herzegovina’s 4-1 defeat to Switzerland.
