Kluivert Hat-Trick Ends Newcastle’s Winning Run

Bournemouth extended their unbeaten Premier League run to 10 matches with a decisive 4-1 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park, derailing the Magpies’ bid for a 10th consecutive win across all competitions. The visitors dominated from the start, with Justin Kluivert opening the scoring in the sixth minute. The forward capitalized on a precise cutback from Antoine Semenyo, guiding the ball into the far corner.

Despite their slow start, Newcastle managed to level the game in the 25th minute. Bruno Guimaraes connected with Lewis Hall’s corner, sending a header past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Although the goalkeeper got a hand to it, he couldn’t prevent the equalizer.

Kluivert’s Clinical Display

Bournemouth regained their lead just before halftime when Kluivert struck again. Guimaraes lost possession near his penalty area, allowing the Dutch forward to convert with another composed finish. The Cherries continued to control the match in the second half, with Dango Ouattara finding the net only for VAR to rule the ball had gone out of play moments earlier.

Kluivert completed his hat-trick in style, firing a stunning effort into the far corner after Anthony Gordon misplaced a pass. This marked his second treble of the season, following a hat-trick of penalties against Wolves.

Late Drama and Newcastle’s Frustration

In stoppage time, Milos Kerkez delivered a hammer blow to Newcastle’s hopes of a comeback. His fierce left-footed strike found the far corner, sending the traveling Bournemouth fans into raptures. David Brooks also came close to scoring earlier, but Martin Dubravka produced a superb save to deny him.

With this victory, Bournemouth moves within a point of fourth-placed Newcastle in the league standings. Depending on Aston Villa’s result against Arsenal later in the day, the Cherries could finish the evening in sixth place.
