Juventus indicate interest in Jadon Sancho

Serie A side Juventus have indicated their interest in signing Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho.

The forward was highly rated while he played in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and made a big money move to Manchester United in the 2021/22 season.

Playing at the Theatre of Dreams was a big deal for the 23-year-old but then Erik ten Hag came along.

The Dutchman came to overhaul the team and impose a new philosophy, drive, style of play and code of conduct. This led to many players, including Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire losing prominence.

Ronaldo exit in December 2022 after the FIFA World Cup shook the football world and many expected Sancho and Maguire to follow suit. Both players remained, however.

But while Maguire put his head down and got to work in order to win his place back despite abuse from the club’s fans, Sancho, per reports from several sources, did not. This led to a falling out between player and manager which both eventually made public.

Now, there are irreconcilable differences between both and no chances of working together anymore. Manchester United have decided to side with ten Hag over Sancho in this case and are looking for an exit plan for the forward.

A January loan move is on the cards but the end goal is a full sale. Borussia Dortmund, Sancho last club, were in the news at a point being linked to their former player. They reportedly wanted to take him back on loan for six months while United worked on a permanent exit for the Englishman.

They now have to deal with interest from Serie A giants Juventus who, according to reports, have the same goal in mind.

Reports also claim that the Bianconeri have gone ahead to initiate contacts to that effect.

Juventus are currently looking to regain their position in Italian football after failing to win the Serie A title in the last three seasons after a decade of retaining it. They are also looking to regain their legitimacy after being involved in numerous scandals and plotting the breakaway European Super League which has put them in the bad books of UEFA.

For Sancho, however, loan moves could be the only option for him until his Manchester United contract expires. This is because he cost £73 million and is on a reported weekly wage of £300,000. Only Saudi Pro League sides have that financial muscle and Sancho does not fancy a move to the Middle East.
