Jadon Sancho exile update: Forward is now banned from team meals

Jadon Sancho has now been banned from eating with the Manchester United first team in the latest twist to his exile from the club.

The 23-year-old, who was one of the hottest properties while he was abroad with German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, is now persona-non-grata at Old Trafford and Carrington thanks to a fallout between himself and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

It started when the Watford academy graduate was left out of the last matchday squad before the September international break. Questions were asked of ten Hag and the manager’s response suggested that Sancho was not fit enough for the team.

This prompted a response from the player, claiming that he is being scapegoated for reasons best known to the manager. The issue has now spiralled out of control with neither side refusing to back down and Sancho being ostracised from the team.

Erik ten Hag has now moved on from the issue and refuses to discuss it with the media when it is brought up. Sancho, meanwhile, has refused to tender an apology to regain his place in the team while he continues to earn a whopping £350,000 weekly wage.

The latest twist in his exile from the club has been reported by the media. This time around, the player is no longer allowed to participate in first team meals. This effectively means he cannot come anywhere near Carrington or the dugout at Old Trafford until he tenders an apology to ten Hag and the rest of the team.

His time at United is all but done as sources claim that ten Hag is no longer interested in working with him, apology or not.

Sancho continues to train and stay fit at the academy section of the club for the sake of his career, but he has no match fitness as he cannot participate in academy games.

It has been reported that a January loan move will be sought by the player and his agents with a view of leaving Manchester United in the summer.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in the move with sources claiming that manager Xavi Hernandez has requested that the club look into it.

Xavi is a fan of the player and has expressed a desire to see him play in a Barcelona system prior to the incident surrounding him. We will see how that plays out in due time.
