Graham Potter seeks Chelsea bounce back after the World Cup

Graham Potter has asked his wards to recharge during the World Cup. Chelsea lost their fifth Premier League game against Newcastle on Saturday.

Todd Boehly must be wondering what is wrong with Chelsea. The Blues owner is seeing the west London side slipping to deeper depths, as their problem becomes worse. Graham Potter must have envisaged a better season under him, but it seems to be a different manager and the same problems.

The World Cup is a welcome distraction for Chelsea. It couldn’t have come at a better time, as the problems with the blues are worse. Chelsea started life under Graham Potter in brilliant form. The Englishman managed to salvage the Blues Champions League season. They qualified for the next round in a strong fashion, but their Premier League campaign has burst at the seams.

There are several dropped shoulders in the Chelsea camp and it is left to Graham Potter to raise the spirit in the camp. Their form has been poor and the results are far from desired, and the World Cup comes at the right time.

Following the loss to Newcastle United, Graham Potter has charged his wards to re-energise during the Mundial.

Chelsea”s terrible season continues
When Todd Boehly took over the reins at Chelsea, the American expected that he would continue in the same fashion as Roman Abramovich. The results were not forthcoming and he fired Thomas Tuchel, but things have not improved. The arrival of Graham Potter has made little impact and seen the Blues continue their downward movement in the Premier League.

On Saturday, Chelsea lost to Newcastle United to continue their miserable run of form. The west London side lost to the high-flying Magpies 1-0. Former Arsenal striker Joe Willock scored in the second half to give Newcastle all three points and move into third place. The loss leaves Chelsea without a win in their last five games.
Chelsea is now eighth in the Premier League and are eight points off the top four. The Blues are now behind Liverpool, Man United and Brighton & Hove Albion in the chase for the top four.

Graham Potter seeking a response after the World Cup
The World Cup starts in a couple of weeks and the Premier League goes into recess. Several Chelsea players will participate in the Mundial and Potter hopes it allows his players to recover their form.

The Englishman has charged his wards to use the World Cup break to re-energise. The former Brighton manager acknowledges that it has been a challenging season for Chelsea and expects a turn-around after the World Cup. The loss to Newcastle is the fifth Premier League defeat for the Blues and brings their total goals conceded to 17.

Chelsea have also failed to win any of the last five premier league games. It is happening for the first time since 2012.
Graham Potter is under increasing pressure at Stamford Bridge. He has called on his wards to regroup and go again after the World Cup. Club football returns at the end of December.
