From Napoli to PSG: Kvaratskhelia’s dream season

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is on the brink of achieving a unique milestone in European football. The Paris Saint-Germain forward is now set to claim a league winner’s medal from both Napoli and PSG after contributing significantly to each club during the 2024–25 season.

The Georgian international began his campaign with Napoli, appearing 17 times in Serie A, where he netted five goals and supplied three assists. His performances helped the Naples-based side maintain momentum in the title race before his mid-season move.

In January, Kvaratskhelia transferred to PSG for €70 million. Since arriving in France, he has continued to make an impact, scoring four times and delivering three assists in 14 Ligue 1 outings. PSG went on to clinch the French league title, meaning Kvaratskhelia played key roles in two championship-winning campaigns in a single season.

Napoli Seal Scudetto as Inter Fall Short

Napoli celebrated their second Serie A triumph in three years after defeating Cagliari 2–0 on Friday night. The result ensured they stayed ahead of Inter, who also secured a 2–0 win in their final game against Como but were unable to overtake Napoli on points.

Kvaratskhelia’s early-season contributions helped position Napoli for their eventual success, placing him among the top five scorers for the club during the league campaign despite departing mid-season. His efforts have not gone unnoticed and will be formally recognized with a Serie A winner’s medal.

Champions League Final Beckons

Now, Kvaratskhelia has the chance to cap off a remarkable year with a third major trophy. PSG will face Inter in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, May 31, in Munich. Should the French side prevail, the 23-year-old winger would complete a rare treble: league titles in both Italy and France, and Europe’s most prestigious club trophy in the same season.

No player has previously earned domestic league honors in two different countries and won the Champions League in the same campaign, placing Kvaratskhelia on the brink of a historic footballing achievement.
