Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino shared an update regarding Moise Kean, who has missed the last two games against Cagliari and Empoli due to personal reasons that remain unclear. After Fiorentina’s 2-1 victory over Empoli in the Tuscan derby at Stadio Franchi, Palladino explained he had been in regular contact with Kean through text messages.
According to Palladino, Kean showed his closeness to the team despite being away. The coach stated that Kean is facing a difficult situation but is expected to return on Monday evening and resume training with the squad by Tuesday. His presence will be key as Fiorentina prepare for Thursday’s Conference League semifinal against Real Betis in Spain.
Palladino praises Fiorentina’s unity
The Tuscan side has managed to win three out of their last five Serie A matches and remains hopeful of securing a place in next season’s Champions League. Palladino expressed his satisfaction with the group’s performances, especially given the absence of some important players.
He emphasized that the team has shown strength during both positive and challenging periods, highlighting their determination and spirit. Palladino said he was proud of the progress made so far and believes they have the potential to make the season truly memorable.
Focus on the present, not the standings
Reflecting on the match against Empoli, Palladino noted that his side scored two goals of excellent quality in the first half. Although Empoli increased the pressure and found a goal in the second half, Palladino praised his players for staying focused and getting the job done.
He pointed out that, at this stage of the season, it is vital to be practical and efficient. The Fiorentina coach also thanked the club President for his support during the match. Finally, Palladino stressed that Fiorentina are not fixated on the standings but are instead concentrating on pushing themselves to the maximum, hoping to benefit from any missteps by their rivals.
