The club views Branthwaite on par with top defenders like Harry Maguire, who cost United £80 million when he transferred from Leicester in 2019, and Josko Gvardiol, who joined Manchester City for €90 million (approximately £77 million) from RB Leipzig last summer.
Branthwaite has made a significant impact as a left-sided central defender for Everton, playing a crucial role in helping the team avoid relegation last season despite facing two points deductions.
