Cristiano Ronaldo insists his European career is over

After his move to Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has said his European career is over. The Portugal superstar recently left Manchester United and joined the Saudi Arabian club after the World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most celebrated footballers of all time. The Portugal international has had an illustrious career, but it is evident that he is no longer at the peak of his powers. At 37, it is understandable that his form will decline, and he would not be able to replicate the numbers he did when he was younger.

Ronaldo is an insatiable professional. He is always looking to be at his peak, but time catches up with everything, and the Portugal superstar is no exception. He joined Manchester United out of love and for the opportunity to continue his legacy. Things did not go to script for him at Old Trafford, forcing the former Real Madrid star to leave.

After a long career in Europe, where he dominated the headlines for many years, Ronaldo may have called time on his European career. The former Juventus striker recently joined Al-Nassr in a mega deal and has drawn the curtains on his career in European football.

Ronaldo pours cold water on European clause

For many, it is the end of the career of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal international had a massive fallout with the hierarchy at Manchester United. He did a tell-all interview with Piers Morgan, where he made disagreeable comments about the Old Trafford side. He described the club as unprofessional and mediocre.

The former Manchester United star left the club and finally made a berth in Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. Reports are rife that included in his contract with the wealthy Middle Eastern club is a loan contract clause to Newcastle if they qualify for the Champions League.

The 37-year-old striker has rubbished the rumours saying he has finished his job in Europe.

Ronaldo claims his time in Europe is up, despite the reports of a contract clause that could see him make a return to the Premier League. The latest comments from Ronaldo suggest that he has closed the door on Europe. Perhaps he is still hurt that no club took a punt on him when he needed them.

An illustrious European career, a new page in the Middle East

Al-Nassr unveiled Ronaldo on Tuesday afternoon at their 25,000-seater stadium Mrsool Park. In his first comments as an Al-Nassr player, Ronaldo said the evolution of football is different, and this isn’t the end of his career by moving to the Middle East. The Portugal international said he is happy to be at Al-Nassr. He continued that he is aware the league is competitive.

Ronaldo is proud of his achievements in Europe. He said he played for most of the important clubs in Europe. Ronaldo said he is proud of deciding to come to the Middle East and reiterated that his assignment in Europe is complete. The comments came 24 hours after Spanish outlet Marca claimed he could make a sensational Premier League return.

Marca suggests that Ronaldo could join Newcastle United on loan if they qualify for the Champions League. The Saudi PIF Group are the owner of the high-flying Magpies.

Reports claim Ronaldo earns £173million-per-year in the Middle East.
