Thomas Muller becomes the victim of a robbery attack
Home burglars have struck again. It is the home of Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller this time. The German international, who was in action as his Bundesliga side beat Barcelona 2-0 on Tuesday, is the latest victim to be affected by the increasing incidents of player home invasions.
The home of the Bayern forward in the small town of Wettlkam, in the municipality of Otterfing south of Munich, was a target of burglars. The burglars broke into Muller’s home on Tuesday evening around 10 pm.
Muller was dispossessed of important valuables by the criminals during the incident. According to reports emerging from Germany, the striker lost goods worth over six digits. Reports by German newspaper BILD suggests that police confirmed that the burglars took cash, jewellery and other valuables.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing by the police, but there are still no traces of the burglars.
A birthday to remember and forget
It was Thomas Muller’s birthday on Tuesday, with the Bayern striker celebrating his 33rd birthday. While there was plenty to celebrate on the pitch, he had something to forget at home. The burglary in his home cast a dark shadow over his birthday celebrations.
Following a massive police hunt for the perpetrators, they could not find any trace of the burglars. The report concludes that the investigation is still ongoing.
Police claim the burglars escaped through a field. Police have yet to make headway as they search for the burglars despite using service dog handlers and police helicopters.
The 33-year-old did not score against Barcelona but was instrumental in the victory. He left the Allianz Arena in a hurry after the game without speaking to the media. Muller cited a private appointment for his failure. They initially believed he was off for a birthday party.
