Arteta expecting strong atmosphere at the Emirates against Newcastle

The Emirates Stadium is set to come alive on Tuesday night as Arsenal host Newcastle United in a highly anticipated Carabao Cup semi-final clash.

With a place in the final at stake, the atmosphere is expected to be electric as fans rally behind their team in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

This marks the first leg of the semi-final matchups among the last four teams in the Carabao Cup, and Mikel Arteta is anticipating an unforgettable night. With the Emirates Stadium under the lights and the stakes sky-high, he expects a spine-tingling atmosphere as the Gunners aim to take a crucial step toward the final.

“We’re very excited to play the game in front of our crowd,” he said in his pre-match press conference on Monday. “A semi-final, an opportunity to earn the right to be in a final and that starts tomorrow with two legs.

“Obviously they’re going to be two long games against a very competitive team, we know that, but very excited and we need a big, big atmosphere in our stadium.”

When asked about the impact supporters can have on the match, Mikel Arteta emphasized the incredible sense of unity he feels at the Emirates.

He highlighted how the fans’ unwavering energy and passion create an inspiring atmosphere that drives the team forward in crucial moments.

“I admire the Emirates the most – 100%,” he said. “The way we can feel at the Emirates with our people is incredible and I’m very positive that tomorrow we’re going to create a big one against really good opposition in the semi-final of the cup that we want to win, so let’s go for it.”

Since taking over as Arsenal boss, Arteta only has the FA Cup and the Community Shield to show for as his titles won and is now eager to add more to his plate.

Talking about the potential of winning the Carabao Cup, he added: “Well it’s the icing on the cake. Obviously we work every single day to achieve that, to enjoy it with our people, and there’s not a single moment that stands out more than actually when you have that cup and you’re offering the cup to your supporters, sharing it with the people that you work every day with.”

“They are memories that stick in your mind and hopefully we can create many more.”

“We know as well the level of opposition, but as a club we have to expect to win every year, that’s for sure.”
