Arsenal in shock move for Eden Hazard

Reports coming out of England and Spain claim that Arsenal are reportedly planning a loan move for Real Madrid outcast Eden Hazard.

The 31-year-old Belgian was on the radar of the Gunners while he was still a youngster in the French Ligue 1 with LOSC Lille. A breakdown in discussions led to Chelsea swooping in for Hazard in 2012, beating Arsenal to one of the most talented young players of that era.

In seven seasons at Stamford Bridge, Hazard attained cult hero status among Chelsea fans, who were sad to see him move on to Real Madrid in 2019 for £89 million.

However, the Belgian’s dream move has been a bust, with injuries and poor adaptation to LaLiga’s style of 0lay hindering Hazard from being the player the world fell in love with while he was at Chelsea.

Madrid have been ready to cut their losses for the past two seasons but have been unable to seal a transfer for him, even on loan.

Now, the Daily Mail sensationally claims that sources have alerted them to Arsenal’s very unlikely move for the man who was almost their player in 2012. The reports claim that Arsenal are looking to reinvent Hazard and make him as scary as he used to be while he wore the Blue of Chelsea.

The Gunners have met with Hazard’s agent to discuss a loan deal for the wide forward, with an option to buy if he impresses in the season.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal man Mesut Ozil is currently embroiled in a battle to keep his job at Fenerbahce, as the club have begun the process of terminating his contract according to reports.

The former Arsenal and Real Madrid playmaker was suspended from the club after many issues which surrounded insubordination and payment of wages. While some of the claims have been refuted by both parties, Ozil has remained suspended from the club.

He could now be without a club in the coming weeks as the club have decided altogether to axe him completely from the team by termination of his contract.

Inter Miami, owned by Manchester United legend David Beckham, is reportedly interested in the World Cup winner and English Championship side Hull City have also expressed their intentions of taking Ozil back to England.

Ozil’s agent Erkut Soguthad stated earlier that Ozil had no plans to leave the club, where he has a contract until 2024.

Sogut said: “Such events are always sad. An unpleasant process has begun for both sides. The important thing is to stay calm and wait for the final decision.

“I say this clearly here. Mesut will not go anywhere, and he certainly has no plans to leave. He will continue here as a Fenerbahce player for two more years until the end of his contract.

“He signed for Fenerbahce for three-and-a-half years, six months of which he played for free. From January to the end of the season, he didn’t even make any money.

“Mesut did not go out and denigrate anyone. What happened there will stay there. If his punishment comes, it will be taken and it will end.”
