Liverpool has received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, as developments involving several French players could help shape the remainder of the summer transfer window.
The Reds are searching for a new wide attacker following Mohamed Salah’s departure on a free transfer. While other targets have emerged in recent weeks, the latest reports suggest Barcola has become Liverpool’s leading priority.
Bradley Barcola’s transfer gains momentum
Liverpool are believed to have been quoted a fee of around £145 million by Paris Saint-Germain for Barcola, who is reportedly unlikely to sign a new contract at the French club.
The winger has moved to the top of Liverpool’s shortlist after reports claimed the club had missed out on Yan Diomande.
According to the report, Liverpool saw a €100 million offer for the 19-year-old rejected by RB Leipzig, while the Ivory Coast youngster is now close to joining Real Madrid.
Maghnes Akliouche and PSG reshape Liverpool’s plans
Liverpool also opened talks with Monaco over Maghnes Akliouche earlier this month as they explored options to strengthen their attack.
However, Foot Mercato reports that Akliouche has informed Liverpool he would rather join Paris Saint-Germain than move to the Premier League.
Should Barcola leave PSG, the French champions are expected to pursue Akliouche as his replacement, creating a potential chain reaction between the clubs.
Monaco agreement could unlock Bradley Barcola’s move
According to Fabrizio Romano, Monaco has agreed to a €25 million deal with Nantes to sign Matthis Abline.
Abline is capable of playing across all three attacking positions, giving Monaco a ready-made replacement if Akliouche departs.
That sequence of transfers could allow Akliouche to move to Paris Saint-Germain and, in turn, leave the door open for Liverpool to intensify their pursuit of Bradley Barcola as they continue searching for reinforcements on the wings.
